Big Blue Button www.bigbluebutton.org

This is the welcome from www.bigbluebutton.org: BigBlueButton is an open source web conferencing system for distance education. It supports sharing of slides (PDF and any document readable by OpenOffice), webcams, whiteboard, chat, voice over IP (using FreeSWITCH), and presenter’s desktop. It can record and playback sessions (slides, audio, and chat), runs on Mac, Unix, and PC computers, and is supported by a community of developers that care about good design and a streamlined user experience.

Elearningbeehive editor: I’ve been experimenting with Big Blue Button and have found that this open source webinar program is robust, reliable and packed with features. It integrates well into Moodle and has a recording module so that webinars can be recorded and archived for future use or for students who have missed classes. Different attendees can be assigned to the moderator role and BBB has audio and video, with desktop sharing and text communication (to group or individuals). Slides are uploaded and played with easy navigation controls. This is the demo from the moderator’s perspective.

This is the viewer’s perspective.
